Six f***ing people... six f***ing interviewees on Setanta Sports News before someone actually condemned the Premier League wanting to stage a rogue 39th match elsewhere in the World. And the seventh person, the one I finally found reason to agree with was Harry f***ing Redknapp. Seriously, what is going on?

Within the last half hour football has, still on Setanta, been referred to as 'the beautiful game' and 'the global game' so if thats accepted why does 'the english game' need to be marketed to the rest of the world? Everyone else plays it too! And to be honest, most of them do it a damn site better than England. Don't patronise these nations by pretending you're giving them something when all you're actually do is raping their money and the game's dignity.

Peter Scudamore popped up to speak a particularly idiotic version of bollocks. Amongst his ramblings "we didn't want to make it one of the regular season games as that's someones home game, that would upset season ticket holders" "Its an exciting opportunity, and a great time for fans to go abroad" "It'll be a huge celebration weekend here in the UK with all matches live on TV"

Where do we start... the fact that its an extra game makes it OK? So you're trying to stay in the Premiership, your rivals get drawn against Derby in Paris, you get Chelsea in Sydney. Fair? No, still be a nice holiday though... that grand would have just been frittered away otherwise on a mortgage or something equally unecessary.

As for this 'huge celebration' weekend here in the UK with all the games on TV; I think the words huge and celebration could quite easily be replaced by hyperbole and overload. Steve Bruce also popped up trottying out the "we've got the best product" line and also "its the best league in the world thats why we have players leaving Russia and France to come here." Nowt to do with the ludicrously oversized wage packets they pick up then.

Basically my point is this, if you can find me a fan who fully supports this idea then I'll also be able to find an idiot with too much money and no free will of their own. We'll be pointing at the same person.
